There is still a huge demand especially in the South West for rented accommodation, however, there always seems to be a shortage of what could be called the “average property”, which would accommodate those on a lower wage , which is probably the bulk of earners in this part of the Country. Therefore for anyone thinking of buying a property for rental purposes, the most popular type of houses/flats to purchase for this sector would be the average 1/2 possibly even 3 bedroomed properties which commands the sort of rental charge that is affordable to those on the average Cornish wage, but who does not earn enough to obtain a mortgage offer for buying their own property. These types of properties in and around the Truro areas are always the first to be let and remain let the longest. It has always been very apparent that the property rental market is generally constant but in view of the latest rumour regarding increases in capital gains tax on second properties, holiday homes and rental properties, it would certainly be prudent for landlords to defer any thoughts on selling at this moment in time. There will always be tenants looking for property to rent especially in Truro, Camborne, Threemilestone and St Agnes and many other surrounding areas which all points to the rental market being quite buoyant at the moment so if you have a property to rent espcially in these areas and they are 1 or two bedrooms this is the market which is frequently in demand.
